USS FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT CVA-42 1961 MED CRUISE VIDEO

This 56 Minute Video is made from movies taken by crew members aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA-42 before, during and after the 1961 Mediterranean Cruise.
The original films have been professionally converted to digital format with color and exposure corrections made as needed. T
his DVD is made to be played on US players that are compatible with the DVD- format.
I was a US Navy Photographer’s Mate aboard the FDR from 1958-60 and I’m making these Videos so shipmates will have something visual to show their families and pass along to future generations. My plan is to make a Video for each cruise and this is the third one completed. A portion of the purchase price of this Video is donated to the USS FDR Reunion Association.
On 16 December 1960 the ship departed New York City after a 3 month overhaul in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and headed for her home port of Mayport, Florida. After refresher training out of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba she set off for the Mediterranean Sea.
This video shows scenes from New York Harbor, Jacksonville Beach, Fl, Naples, Italy, Tripoli, The French Alps on Tour, Palermo, Athens, Cannes, Capri, Genoa, Refueling and Replenishing at Sea, Gibraltar, Return to Mayport and bonus scenes of the First A3J bombers to land and take off from the ship.
